Twitch sub badges that match from tier to tier
Type one badge per milestone (1, 3, 6, 12, 24 months and so on), pick the badge preset, and download a zip with 18, 36 and 72 px PNGs for each tier. All of them share the grid, the colours and the outline, so the ladder reads as one design.

Twitch shows sub badges at 18×18 in chat and asks for three PNG sizes per tier: 72, 36 and 18 px, each under 25 KB, transparent background, static only. It does not generate the smaller sizes for you. This preset draws on a 36-px grid: the 72-px file is an exact pixel double, and the 18-px chat size is a clean 2:1 reduction by majority vote (or switch the grid to 18 to draw at chat size directly).
The usual ladder is five badges (Twitch fills in 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 months by default) and you can add milestones later. In my experience a ladder works when the tiers are the same object getting fancier: a shield that gains a gem, then a crown, then wings. Write each tier as a short phrase and keep the object the same. The ladder button does the bronze, silver, gold, emerald and sapphire versions for you from one pick.
Writing the ladder
Good: bronze shield, silver shield, gold shield, gold shield with red gem, gold shield with crown. Bad: five unrelated things, or anything with text in it. Letters do not survive 18 pixels.
Bit badges
Bit badges have the same sizes and limits. Make them in the same preset and palette as the sub badges and the chat looks like it was all drawn by one person, which in a way it was.
Drafts are AI-generated, then finished by my pixel code. The PNGs carry an AI-generated label in their metadata. Twitch has no rule against it and viewers see a normal badge.
Questions people ask
What size are Twitch sub badges?
Three PNGs per badge: 72×72, 36×36 and 18×18 pixels, each under 25 KB, transparent background. Twitch does not resize them for you; this tool exports all three.
How many badges do I need?
Five covers the default milestones (1, 3, 6, 12, 24 months). You can add more later in the same style: the zip includes a set.json that restores your palette and grid.
Will the files be under 25 KB?
Yes. A 36-pixel grid with 16 colours produces 72-px PNGs of roughly 1 to 4 KB.
Can I make the badges in my channel colours?
Yes. Choose “custom palette” and paste your hex colours, or convert your logo on the converter, pick it first and choose “Match my picks”.
